About Therapy

I offer psychodynamic therapy which aims to bring about greater awareness in how a person deals with their experiences in relation to themselves and others. Whilst in therapy, we would think about your current difficulties in relation to earlier experiences in life, informed by our work together.

Earlier experiences in life may contribute to difficulties in current life and personal situations.  Such difficulties could include relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress, low self esteem, work related issues and lack of fulfillment.

Many people seek therapy when they are at the point of needing help to understand their predicament.  The aim of therapy would be to work together to help you gain greater insight about your current situation and relationships, so that you may develop more awareness for the future. Gaining greater awareness can create new possibilities in life and modify old perspectives.

Psychotherapy can help with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Bereavement and grief
  • Low confidence and self esteem
  • Loss of purpose and lack of fulfillment
  • Panic attacks
  • Psychosomatic conditions
  • Phobias

To begin the process, we would meet for an initial consultation of one or more meetings, during which we would discuss whether therapy might be helpful.

Sessions last 50 minutes and the cost of an initial appointment is £60.  Ongoing fees for psychotherapy are negotiated on an individual basis and according to the person’s circumstances.  Average fees for once weekly therapy are £50-£60.  The cost of attending therapy more than once a week can reduce the session fee.

My therapy practice is in South East London, SE5.  It can be easily reached by overground trains to Denmark Hill or Loughborough Junction.  It is also situated near Camberwell and Brixton.
